Barbara Moriarty
Retired from Industry
Ph.D.
I worked for Nalco Chemical Company (now a part of Ecolab) developing water treatment products to save the earth's fresh water. After that I worked for a couple of years for a start-up company with less than 10 employees. Again I developed polymers based on aspartic acid for water treatment. The polyaspartic acids were biodegradable, unlike the materials developed before. I then have been trying to transition into academia with adjunct (part-time) positions at community colleges like the College of Lake County, where I have taught General Chemistry for the last few years. I have worked for both a large company and a small start-up company.
